Taking lessons from Jason these past 10 years has been phenomenal. He never ceases to amaze me with his patience and care for my playing music and I don’t know what I would do without this gift he continually shows me how to expand on. Thank you sir!

MEET JASON

Hi there!

I grew up in Oregon and now live in Los Angeles with my wife and my pup "Eli." He's a 14-year-old beagle/lab mix.

I began playing piano at age three.  Granted, it was just a toy piano from Santa, but this sparked a lifelong passion!

I've been teaching for over 15 years but I'm always finding new ways to help my students understand music. I like to think that I can make piano accessible to anyone.

Looking forward to working with you!

Jason

WHAT STUDENTS SAY

To have access to the level of talent, knowledge and musical expertise that Jason has is a privilege that I am grateful for. He is undoubtedly one of the best pianists in the world. I have spent the last 18 months doing regular lessons and in that time under Jasons tuition and guidance have learned to play competently Chopin, The Beatles, Barry Manilow and a prelude by Bach. If you are willing to practice and put the work in you will see your piano skills flourish under Jason. I am grateful to have met him and call him a dear friend as well as my piano teacher. A maestro and Gent to say the least!

Tony, Los Angeles, FaceTime Student

Jason assessed how I learn and has been teaching me in a way that is intuitive and fun for me. All the while, I’m learning theory, technique, improvisation... I’m having a lot of fun doing something I’ve always wanted to do. I’m grateful for his guidance.

Mickey, Los Angeles, FaceTime Student

Jason is such a great piano teacher. He is very patient and makes learning fun. He helps you with whatever skills you want to improve on whether it’s playing from sheet music, learning theory, or helping you create your own pieces.

Danielle, Los Angeles

Jason is a terrific teacher who manages to be both supporting and challenging as we work through new songs. He really cares about making you a better pianist. His enthusiasm is contagious. I recommend him highly for students of any level.

Talent aside, the first thing you will notice about Jason is his kindness. He has an obvious heart and soul that is so refreshing in a town not exactly known for its authenticity.

I came to love his teaching style not only because of his warm personality, but because he doesn’t just go by the books. He asks you what your goals are and he tailors his approach around that. I really appreciate for example, his emphasis on learning all the scales in all keys and learning to improvise and voice lead while practicing them.

Jason is the polar opposite of the uptight, stodgy and rigid piano teacher stereotype that some will inevitably encounter. Having lessons with him feels like you’re just hanging with a friend, loose and fun, easygoing yet still productive.

He makes people feel at-ease and as though they can be themselves, all the while delivering epic piano wisdom and expertise sure to make you a much better player, given that you’re willing to put in the practice.

I highly recommend Jason as a teacher for anyone considering lessons, whether you’re a beginner or seasoned professional.  I’m glad to have found him, and you will be too.
